Fresh oysters from Seattle, sushi and warm sake, ramen and udon were so good. Noodles freshly made.

The Chilli Chicken Donburi is good actually I love it.

Disappointing service and loose Spicy Tuna Roll. My drink order was forgotten about. When it did arrive there was no apology extended.

Fish tasted fresh. Actually had some nice raw fish rolls. Loved the cherry blossom and sake mango rolls. Decent saki list and some interesting sushi options in their daily specials. Prices were descent for SF. My rolls were $15. I would go back.

Always a great experience. Sit at the bar and order from the chefs. They're lovely and make a great roll. Definitely try the La Bamba roll if you like more spicy. And the salmon toro is terrific.

Great sushi, nice service, gluten free tamari. A little pricey but would go again!

One of the best sushi I’ve had, very very fresh fish! Recommend sticking to traditional rolls, to really experience the nice flavour

Three item bento box was HUGE! Tempura and chicken teriyaki was great. Sashimi was small and would probably pick something else if I could do it again. But overall great value for money. I went here a little past 11 for lunch and it was me and another table. Not crowded at all and food was out quickly.

Fresh albeit some dishes needed some improvement

Great Japanese restaurant near union square! They were able to take our reservation for 13 people. Great service and food!

Stopped in for late lunch for 1 when in town for business. Wasn’t the most amazing experience, but certainly did the trick. Service was immediately and friendly. Menu had all that I was looking for and prices were reasonable. Was slow when I arrived, this made dishes come out super quick. Would certainly come back, if wanting sushi lunch. Not suitable if wanting to impress clients or for special occasion dinner.

The Sashimi was excellent...hamachi and sake (salmon) could not be fresher. The uni may be the best I've had, and I complimented the chef on it. Normally it would come from the Fort Bragg area but this was sourced in Alaska due to waves in NoCal that stopped divers. Presentation here is simple but the quality is very good.

Loved both of my rolls, will definitely be coming back.

It was seeming a good family-run restaurant. Tables and restrooms are just clean. I ate a Lion King sushi and drunk a cup of Matcha tea. Also I believe they have one of the healtiest menu in this area..

Awesome place and really good place to have Japanese cuisine.

Delicious range of food, all cooked to perfection. And lovely staff very accommodating of our toddler.

Sashimi and sushi were fresh and sushi rice was good.

Went here on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was about half full, not busy. Waitress was new, but fast and attentive. Fish quality was good and tasted fresh. Prices are on par with SF. Did not encounter any of the long wait times for food and bev like others have commented in other reviews.

Wonderful, casual atmosphere with friendly servers. Great selection of traditional Japanese favorites, and a huge variety of sushi options.

Great little place!! The food was AWESOME, but the wait to order was terribly long. Since the staff were polite, I would come again.

The sushi was great. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were high, but that is to be expected in San Francisco.

Fantastic sushi at this rather dim lit, no frills, yet authentic Japanese decor Sushi Bar. Located right off of Union Square in San Francisco, with late hours, it is a great option when downtown. Extremely fresh seafood with a unique menu of fusion rolls, served by a friendly staff and very reasonable prices; this place is a definite winner among the zillions of sushi bars in SF.Oysters and wakame were simply delicious, tempura rolls served at proper temperature, great flav profiles. ðŸ‘ðŸ½Would highly recommend.

Excellent Sushi, and attentive service for a reasonable price. Try the fatty tuna and tempura ice cream. Yum!

Food good, service ok, sewer drainage overflow with sink use...

The sushi and experience here I had during a mid day weekend was okay. The sushi was kind of falling apart but the service was fine. Wouldn’t go back as there’s better places around.
Freddy Coronado
Friendly staff, fairly spacious. The teriyaki was a bit chewy and the tempura was not fully steamed before being fried. I would say stick to the sushi here but nothing else.

Gone here for many years, but no more than once or twice a year. A favorite of my Japanese colleagues. Crispy salmon skin is heavenly. Uni comes fresh from the divers every evening.

Super quick service with a smile. Super yum sushi. Would highly recommend!

Maru was excellent! The sushi chef was easy to talk to and very helpful when ordering. The food was too notch. Honestly this was some of the best sushi I have ever had and it came and went very quickly! If I'm ever back in the area, I would not hesitate to come back to Maru Sushi.

Nice place to grab some sushi. Price is reasonable in this area.

Good sushi made fresh every time you order

The service was great, v-nice waitress, didn't have to wait too long. The ramen tasted like salty milky cabbage water and the pork was overcooked. But hey, it's not a ramen place!

My first time @ this sushi place. Food is very fresh and the oysters are very good as well. Good price with good quality of sushi.

The owner is korean! one of the chef is mexican! but they still got very good sushi!! I come here at least 3 times a month! We always order our favorite Lover Spoons $11 for each spoon, sashimi or nigiri, edamame and miso soup is good here, hamachi kama or Saba (grilled mackerels) is excellent and sometime we also order the uni nigiri ($18) which has never disappoints!! Oh and Never has issue with service!!

My husband has been here lots of times while traveling for business but this was my first time. They serve wonderfully fresh and delicious fish in a very traditional atmosphere that is lovely. We eat a lot of sushi and sashimi and really appreciate how fresh and beautiful their fish is. I cannot wait to return. I’m not sure what the unfavorable reviews are but suspect people may want a flashier place but this restaurant isn’t about that. It’s about quality and serving beautiful food.

Sushi was okay - not the greatest that I’ve ever had, but they did offer a decent selection of speciality rolls. The Lunch Bento was given to us around 3pm which was helpful. The service was very quick and attentive!

To start, the price is great. Its surprisingly affordable for the area of town it's in. The food is good, and the service is attentive. I started with mixed tempura, which was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Next was chicken teriyaki, which was good, but the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I felt like the sauce was solid but not great, and I would have liked to see more vegetables worked in. That said, great meal, and well presented.

Great fresh sushi. California roll was one of he best I've ever had. Salmon belly was phenomenal. Prices were decent. Staff was attentive and friendly.

Great environment, plenty of seating, and very clean. The staff are friendly. The food is fantastic!

Great sushi place, amazing matcha tea. Quiet and chill on a Friday afternoon.
Brent Chartrand
Fresh, good sushi. Not the most imaginative rolls or anything, but the three different kinds of toro they had this evening more than made up for it. The oysters were also yummy and fresh.
Mikhail Lopez
Popped in here for a quick bite, so only had 1 roll. Fish quality was terrific, and price was good too. Definitely a good spot to visit when in SF and looking for sushi. Also had nice ambiance.
